EIT Supernovas Rocket Up expands horizons: now open to startups outside Europe

The EIT Supernovas Rocket Up , a tailored internationalisation programme designed to support women-led startups in the tech sector enter new European markets, is breaking new ground in 2025 by welcoming applications from startups based outside Europe for the first time. This expansion extends the programme’s reach, enabling women entrepreneurs worldwide to enter the European market.
The EIT Supernovas Rocket Up supports participants scale their companies across Europe. With Europe’s fragmented market, with diverse cultures, histories, and needs, a comprehensive internationalization strategy is critical. Rocket Up supports startups in developing and validating their market expansion strategies, navigating complexities, and building critical networks with industry experts and mentors. This activity is part of the broader Supernovas programme, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, which seeks to break barriers and increase women presence and role in the entrepreneurship, innovation and investment ecosystems. Since it’s launch in 2022, the EIT Supernovas has supported over 490 women in their journey to learn about investment or launch their startup in a new market. The programme has also enabled the creation of a Dataroom for investors interested in supporting women-led startups of the EIT ecosystem, with over 850 startups in it. Additionally, the programme is building a network of women investors and an ambassador programme to further take the project to the next level.
The programme runs 5 different activities: 3 focused more on expanding women’s knowledge and skills in Investment (both in Venture Capital and as Business Angels), and two focused on the women entrepreneurs that want to either expand their business into a new market or to progress in their leadership skills.
This year, as a novelty, the EIT Supernovas Rocket Up is opening its doors to startups from outside the continent, allowing more women-led ventures to access the European market.
“By opening the Rocket Up programme to startups from outside Europe, we aim to reach more entrepreneurs globally, bringing their talent and innovations into the region,” said Celeste Reglá, Manager of the Rocket Up programme. “This expansion aligns with our commitment to addressing the gender gap in the tech startup ecosystem, where only 15% of companies are led by women, while driving collaboration across borders.”
Since its inception in Supernovas Rocket Up has supported 32 startups in accessing new European markets, with a total investment of €40M attracted. It has also been highly praised by participants for its impact:
“Thanks to the programme, we’ve been able to define a clear strategy for international expansion. In terms of personal growth, I was able to share my experience with other female entrepreneurs, learn from different cultures and helping each other in the process,” said Alba Rocafort, Co-founder of FABBRIC (participant of the 2024 batch), who recently closed an investment round of 1.25 million euros.
Pre-registration
The 2025 programme will host 12 to 16 startups. Startups from outside Europe will be required to cover the full programme fee, while European startups may qualify for sponsorship based on their evaluation scores. The top ten European startups will receive 100% sponsorship.
Women founders eager to expand their ventures into Europe are encouraged to pre-register now and stay tuned for further updates. The official call for applications opens on 10 February 2025.

Φέτος, ως καινοτομία, το EIT Supernovas Rocket Up ανοίγει τις πόρτες του σε startups από εκτός της ηπείρου, επιτρέποντας σε περισσότερες γυναίκες-επικεφαλής επιχειρήσεις να αποκτήσουν πρόσβαση στην ευρωπαϊκή αγορά.
“Ανοίγοντας το πρόγραμμα Rocket Up σε startups από εκτός Ευρώπης, στοχεύουμε να φτάσουμε περισσότερους επιχειρηματίες παγκοσμίως, φέρνοντας τα ταλέντα και τις καινοτομίες τους στην περιοχή,” είπε η Celeste Reglá, διευθύντρια του προγράμματος Rocket Up. “Αυτή η επέκταση ευθυγραμμίζεται με τη δέσμευσή μας να αντιμετωπίσουμε το χάσμα των φύλων στο οικοσύστημα των τεχνολογικών startups, όπου μόνο το 15% των εταιρειών διευθύνονται από γυναίκες, ενώ προωθεί τη συνεργασία πέρα από τα σύνορα.”
Από την ίδρυσή του, το Supernovas Rocket Up έχει υποστηρίξει 32 startups να αποκτήσουν πρόσβαση σε νέες ευρωπαϊκές αγορές, με συνολική επένδυση €40 εκατομμυρίων προσελκυσθέντων. Έχει επίσης εξαιρετικά επαινεθεί από τους συμμετέχοντες για τον αντίκτυπό του:
“Χάρη στο πρόγραμμα, καταφέραμε να ορίσουμε μια σαφή στρατηγική για τη διεθνή επέκταση. Σε ό,τι αφορά την προσωπική μου ανάπτυξη, μπόρεσα να μοιραστώ την εμπειρία μου με άλλες γυναίκες επιχειρηματίες, να μάθω από διαφορετικές κουλτούρες και να βοηθήσουμε η μια την άλλη στη διαδικασία,” είπε η Alba Rocafort, συνιδρύτρια της FABBRIC (συμμετέχουσα της ομάδας του 2024), που πρόσφατα ολοκλήρωσε έναν γύρο επένδυσης 1,25 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ.
Προεγγραφή
Το πρόγραμμα του 2025 θα φιλοξενήσει 12 έως 16 startups. Οι startups από εκτός Ευρώπης θα χρειαστεί να καλύψουν το πλήρες κόστος του προγράμματος, ενώ οι ευρωπαϊκές startups ενδέχεται να πληρούν τα κριτήρια για χορηγία βάσει των αξιολογήσεων τους. Οι δέκα κορυφαίες ευρωπαϊκές startups θα λάβουν 100% χορηγία.
Οι γυναίκες ιδρυτές που επιθυμούν να επεκτείνουν τις επιχειρήσεις τους στην Ευρώπη ενθαρρύνονται να προεγγραφούν τώρα και να παρακολουθούν για περαιτέρω ενημερώσεις. Η επίσημη πρόσκληση για αιτήσεις ανοίγει στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου 2025.
